Several county pools participated in the World’s Largest
Swimming Lesson to raise awareness about a leading cause of accident deaths in
children 1-5. The official worldwide
number of participants is not yet known, but 50 Ashburn swimmers at the
Brambleton Sport & Health Club participated in a coordinated attempt to
break a Guinness World Record for The World’s Largest
Swimming Lesson, or WLSL.
More than 500 aquatic
facilities representing 25 different countries on five continents and 46 states
in the
First Brambleton
Kids Triathlon to support local youth organization
Swim, Bike and Run to the
finish! The Brambleton Community Association is excited to kick off its
first Kids Triathlon, scheduled for Saturday, September 1, 2012. The
event is open to the public and will be held at the Community Center Pool

off with a "Magical Summer" theme, starting with a performance for

“This is a huge investment in Loudoun’s future,” said Tony
Howard, president of the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce, which represents 1,200
businesses. “It’s important not just for our economy in the next quarter or the
next year, but for a payoff that will be generational. . . . The chamber is absolutely elated.”
The Silver Line’s first leg, expected to be running by August
2013, will pass through Tysons Corner to Wiehle Avenue Reston .
When the entire line — which is being built by the Metropolitan Washington
Airports Authority — is completed, it will span 23 miles of rail
between East Falls Church and Ashburn.
